Dr Chris is the principal veterinarian and owner of Normanby Road Vet Clinic.
With more than 40 years of experience, Chris will care for and treat all your furry and feathered friends.
Chris has worked from Southland to Scotland, treating everything from farm animals to racehorses, domestic pets and exotic animals. The first clinic he owned was Vets at Jansens in 1992. Chris later took a year off to build his current practice, which opened in 2006.
Chris was involved in the Companion Animal Society, a branch of the NZ Veterinary Association, and is now involved as an executive member of the Auckland Veterinary Society.
KV originally hails from South Africa and soon after she arrived in New Zealand she started working for Dr Chris at The Vets at Jansens Mt Eden Clinic .This later became Pet Doctors Animates where she practiced for almost 15 years and more recently with Vetcare Animates Grey Lynn. She enjoys seeing a diverse range of species and patients as well as various aspects of Veterinary work and She has been with us for the last 5 years , She has such high compassion for animals.
Madi is originally from Portland , USA but has grown up in NZ , She has been an essential part of our team for the last 3 years.
She is super lovely , friendly and has a HUGE passion for Animals. She is more than happy to help you out if you need anything.
She lives close to the cattery so she also transports all the cattery cats every evening.
Maliboo is her little Pomchi who you may meet at reception as she comes to work some days , Madi also has a pitbull & rabbit at home & Madi also owns a small buisness called Boo's Barkery making home made pet treats
She greets all human and pet visitors to the clinic from reception and is knowledgeable to give advice on our range of pet foods and accessories.
Zyra graduated with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing from UCOL in 2019. She brings passion and care to the animals of this clinic. Zyra is a cat lover and an avid reader and tv show watcher in her spare time. Zyra has a beautiful ragdoll called Atticus who you may get the chance to meet as he hangs out at the clinic often.

If you have an Emergency with your pet during our closed hours please see under Services page for a list Emergency clinics in Auckland.
Please do not go to the emergency clinic if it is not urgent/life threatening. ( Runny eyes/nose , coughing , limping , itching & etc can wait until the morning to be seen by our day vet )
If you are very worried or unsure if you are dealing with an emergency about your pet after clinic hours and you are a client with us you can reach Dr Chris on his emergency phone until 10pm or again from 7am each day
